Investment Decision Making about Chemical Processes
Decision making about chemical processes incorporates more challenges than dealing with risk:
- Investing in a chemical process often means to change the company’s production network. It is therefore important to have a very close look at the investment decision’s impact on the company. Using transfer price concepts in such a situation may lead to wrong decisions. The question is, how this can be avoided.
- Producing and using chemicals affect the environment. How can Managers and Decision Makers apply useful methodologies to understand and avoid environmental risks?
- Ecological impacts are quite uncertain, because researchers and politicians do not understand precisely what’s going on in the world. Therefore, it is first necessary to accept that risk is involved in any ecological impact analysis, but it is also important to find ways to deal with this high degree of uncertainty when making decisions.
These aspects of decision making regarding chemical processes have been dealt with in my publications. Please feel free to have a closer look!
